About the Crystal Oath
The Crystal Oath was founded by souls born of different paths, beliefs, and histories, yet had one goal that remained to be true: to do what needed to be done. The Crystal Oath formed as the tales of the Warrior of Light within the Seventh Astral Era rode upon the winds of tongues and texts. As bloody wars were fought upon not only Eorzean soil, but across the entirety of The Source.Before the would-be champion of the Mothercrystal, there were others - their names, and faces now forgotten. But their deeds were not. The Company of Heroes.But blades will dull, shields will break, and one man or woman cannot be in two places at once. Before the Champion of Eorzea came forward, the Grand Companies were in disarray. Ishgard was closed to those who were not from within her walls, and its lands were locked in a bloody battle. Passage to Kugane and her sister region was all but impossible thanks to Garlean rule and suspicion.It was as if Etheirys itself was holding her breath.
The founders of the Crystal Oath came together to make sure these wounds, and others did not reopen. No more would they stand by because leaders could not make decisions due to political standpoints – nor would they leave souls that needed succor to await the attention of heroes.While those who would surely be written in history's pages - these beacons of light - are busy – the Crystal Oath vowed to catch that light in their own souls and refract it upon those too far or unnoticed.The Final Days swept through the land, that moment in time as cold and cruel as steel meeting flesh in the night. The Crystal Oath <<Oaths>> is a 21+ Neutral Good Free Company that prides itself on medium-to-heavy roleplay, with our personal Free Company MSQ that lends itself to being lore-compliant while not being strictly tied to the lore 100%.Thematically, our Free Company is a group of people who decided that they wanted to make a change - to be the blades and succor for the people when the Warrior of Light cannot be there. There is strife, and discourse, and drama of all kinds! (all in-character, of course!)Of course, this also means that both in and out of character, there are times of levity, happiness, and silliness! (Maybe a bit of chaos at times, too, but all in good fun!)We host roleplay events quite frequently, and all our events run on Eastern Standard Time (EST!)We are a roleplaying Free Company first! We do a fair amount of map parties, content runs, and things of that nature, but they won't ever supercede planned roleplay events!All in all, we do strive to keep a very healthy balance between OOC and IC activities.
Alongside our Free Company, we also have people from Free Companies that ally themselves with ours in-character! As such, you may find yourself being approached by people both in and out of the company for anything! Be it roleplay, content, or general banter in our Discords/Linkshells/FC Chat.We also play plenty of other games outside of Final Fantasy XIV! At any point in time, you can find us playing things like Genshin Impact, Minecraft, Guild Wars 2, or any other fun thing that pops up at the time.Even if you're not a roleplayer and you're just looking for a social place to hang out, you'll be more than welcome here as well! And if in the future you decide maybe you want to try roleplaying, we'll help you get set up as well!We do have an application process, which you'll find further into this Carrd in the event that you feel like you maybe want to give this Free Company a shot! 1. The Crystal Oath is a 21+ Roleplay Free Company, this means that by entering this Discord and/or joining the Free Company, you are confirming you are 21+, and should you be found violating this rule, you will be permanently banned from the Discord and in-game FC.2. NSFW is allowed in our Free Company. If you use mods, please keep all talk of it outside of in-game chats for both your safety as well as ours. DISCLAIMER - LALAFELL NSFW IS COMPLETELY BANNED IN THIS COMPANY. No exceptions.3. This company does not tolerate transphobia, homophobia, xenophobia, racism, or other such things. Engaging in these behaviors is an immediate ban. Treat everyone you meet with respect, and respect peoples' pronouns, and please refrain from using slurs.4. Consent is never optional, both in-character and out of character. This is another rule that is in our zero-tolerance policy - you break it, you are done. We are all adults, and we can all understand when something may be potentially triggering or uncomfortable for someone. If you are not given CLEAR consent, that means NO. Full stop. This rule is in full effect at all times, including with people from outside our Discord and Free Company.
5. Please adhere to roleplay etiquette! We have many talented writers with their own flair and passion when it comes to writing out events. As such, please always respect your event DMs, and remember to have a good time!6. The Crystal Oath does not follow MSQ events, but does indeed follow world-changing events (See: The Final Days, Dragonsong War, etc.) As such, we are a very lore-abiding Free Company, but we know how to bend the lore to make our own cool things happen, too! If you think something is lore-bending or lore-breaking, and you’d like distinction, toss an Admin a DM, and we’ll get to you.7. Our Free Company and Discord are both drama-free zones! Drama in roleplay can make for some great stories, but please keep all personal drama to yourself and to DMs! If you have any grievances with anyone in the FC or allied with our FC, please come directly to an Admin or an Officer!8. These rules are non-exhaustive. If something is not listed, it does not mean it is allowed. Use common sense, follow leadership warnings, and DO NOT attempt to find loopholes or purposefully give us a hard time. Any further additions to the rules will receive their own announcement to bring awareness to the new rule’s enactment.
